Photoshop free download
Adobe Photoshop does not offer a free full download. The legal free path is Adobe’s official trial. After that, Photoshop is a paid subscription.
If you need the same jobs without a subscription, use a free editor under its own name. GIMP covers retouching and compositing, Photopea runs in the browser and opens PSD files, Krita is built for painting, and darktable develops RAW photos.
Official option
Adobe publishes the trial and the current price on this page. An installer from any other site is not an official Photoshop download.

GIMP
GIMP is the desktop editor most people mean by a free Photoshop alternative. Download it from gimp.org. The file is GIMP, with layers, masks, and filters.
Photopea
Photopea opens in the browser and follows a layout close to Photoshop, including PSD files. There is no installer. Ads support the free editor, and a paid plan can remove them.
Krita
Krita is a painting studio. Pick it when the work is illustration rather than photo cleanup. The official download is on krita.org.
darktable
darktable is the free tool for RAW catalogs and non-destructive photo development, closer to Lightroom than to Photoshop’s layer stack.
